The family owned company is based in Boulder, CO and makes all its snowshoes by hand – since 1994. Each frame is bent, cut and welded one piece at a time using aircraft grade aluminum. Specially designed materials for cold and abrasion have been developed for Crescent Moon snowshoes and parts are cut and assembled by hand in the small factory located just 2 miles from the famous Boulder mall. Crescent Moon promises you a better snowshoe for a fair price. The most important part of a snowshoe is the binding. A good one can give you a great outdoor experience. Crescent Moon's "single pull loop" (SPL) binding is considered to be the best designed harness system available anywhere in the world. The SPL snowshoe binding design is featured on both the Gold and Silver series of snowshoes.
The Gold series features a molded polyurethane stirrup that captures your foot with a single pull of the loop strap. To close the binding, a polycarbonate buckle ratchets your heel snugly into place for a secure and comfortable fit.
The Silver series is designed with an ultra durable fabric version of the SPL binding and uses a cam locking buckle in the place of the ratcheting heel mechanism. Both are the best you will ever find.
